Faculty Engage in Hands-On Learning to Strengthen Student Support and Innovation

"Together We Thrive" was a two-day inaugural national conference, focused on Inclusion in Jewish day schools that was attended by Upper School learning specialist, Dr. Rob Klein and Lower School learning specialist, Sandi Fein. Hosted by the Shefa Center, the program offered sessions on best practices and learning support for the growing neurodiverse student population schools are seeing across the country. Topics included in-class strategies for a range of the social, behavioral and educational needs of students, as well as sessions for school and organizational leadership on systemic change to better provide student support services and collaboration with community agencies.

First grade teacher, Yael Safran and Gan teacher, Ziva Soll-Adam joined award winning Jewish educator and Theater Artist, Jonathan Shmidt Chapman (founder of the K’ilu Company) for a meaningful Professional Development session. This hands-on workshop guided our early childhood educators in using theater and play as tools to explore Jewish tradition, with a focus on the Passover story.

Michael Newman, Diane Kleinman, and Jon Hefetz had the opportunity to attend the 40th annual NJECC Technology conference, with an emphasis on finding the balance  in your classroom. They attended a number of interesting sessions focusing on AI and other technology tools which they will be bringing back to their campuses.
