Faculty Learn the Art of Limit-Setting with Dr. Yoni Schwab at Cross-Campus PD Day

Faculty from both campuses gathered at the Upper School on Thursday, February 12, for a full day of professional development centered on the important topic of setting limits.

The day began with a joint session led by Dr. Yoni Schwab, founder and Assistant Head of The Shefa School—the largest Jewish day school in the world for students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. A nationally sought-after presenter, Dr. Schwab regularly speaks on ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, limit setting, and the impact of technology on youth.

During his keynote session, Dr. Schwab shared the history and evolution of limit setting, exploring how expectations have shifted over time at home and in schools and how students’ responses to boundaries have changed in academic environments.

Following the general session, faculty, guidance counselors, and learning specialists participated in targeted workshops tailored to their specific roles. Educators discussed real classroom challenges, collaborated within departments and learning teams, and worked alongside Dr. Schwab to develop practical strategies for effective limit setting.

The school extends its gratitude to the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ for generously funding this professional learning opportunity.

In addition to the workshops, Lower School and Upper School teachers enjoyed time together over lunch and continued discussions on initiatives designed to enhance student learning and engagement. The day highlighted the school’s commitment to professional growth and collaboration, leaving faculty inspired and energized by the shared learning experience.
