Parashat Beshalach
In Parashat Beshalach, the Israelites finally leave Egypt but quickly run into a big problem. The Egyptian army is behind them and the sea is in front of them. They panic and complain to Moshe, feeling trapped with no way out.

Instead of just making everything magically easy, God tells them to move forward. According to a midrash, one person, Nachshon, actually steps into the water before the sea splits. The miracle happens only after someone is brave enough to take the first step.

This is really relatable to our lives. Sometimes we feel stuck — before a big test, trying out for a team, switching schools, or dealing with drama with friends. We might wait for things to magically get better, but often nothing changes until we make the first move ourselves.

Parashat Beshalach teaches that even when we’re scared or unsure, we still need to take steps forward. Once we try, things often start to work out. The sea doesn’t always split first. Sometimes we have to step in before we see the path.
