Introducing Rabbi Lindsay Goldman - Incoming Upper School Rabbi-in-Residence

We are thrilled to announce that Rabbi Lindsay Goldman will be joining GOA as the new Upper School Rabbi-in-Residence. We also wish Rabbi Goldman a mazel tov on becoming ordained from the Rabbinical School at the Jewish Theological Seminary yesterday!

 

Together with the Upper School faculty, she will bring new learning to our Tefillah program, holiday celebrations and Jewish life and learning. 

 

"I have had the privilege of seeing Rabbi Goldman grow as a Jewish leader over the past decade and am impressed by her love of Israel, commitment to Torah study, and sensitivity to people experiencing distress,” said Head of School Rabbi Danny Nevins. “She will enrich our team at GOA and support the spiritual growth of our students."

 

Rabbi Goldman will earn her master’s degree in Jewish Gender and Women’s Studies, as well as the Certificate in Pastoral Care and Counseling, for completing two 400-hour units of clinical pastoral education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in General and Special Education from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University.

 

Prior to studying at JTS, Rabbi Goldman spent two years teaching middle school Rabbinic studies at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland. She has since served as the Rabbinic Intern and Spiritual Life Advisor at The Bronfman Center at NYU for the past three years where she has taught the Jewish Learning Fellowship to over 100 college students and pastored to students and staff alike. 

 

“Having worked with Rabbi Goldman at CESJDS,” said Dr. Eytan Apter, Upper School Principal, “I know that her love of children, her passion for Torah studies, and her creative thinking will enrich our GOA community.”

 

Rabbi Goldman loves seeing Broadway shows, traveling the world, and reading new books with her feminist book club.
