    Golda Och Academy is an independent Pre-K through 12 Jewish Day School located in West Orange, New Jersey that offers a high quality, college-preparatory school experience while nurturing Jewish identity and knowledge. The Admissions office seeks to enroll highly motivated students who will take advantage of our rigorous dual curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

    LOWER SCHOOL (PRE-K TO GRADE 5)

    Priority consideration deadlines:
    • Tuition reduction/financial aid application (optional) due by December 31, 2017
    • Enrollment application due by January 15, 2018
    • Decisions emailed on February 15, 2018
    • Enrollment decision due by March 1, 2018

    Regular consideration deadlines:

  • Q: How many students attend Golda Och Academy?

    GOA enrolls approximately 525 students per year on two campuses (Lower School Campus for Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade and Upper School Campus for 6th through 12th grades). The average class size is 18 students.
  • Q: What is the tuition at Golda Och Academy? What additional expenses should I expect?

    The tuition at GOA ranges from $12,600 for Pre-K and up to $31,940 for high school (grades 9-12). The only additional required fee is the Building Maintenance Fee which is a one -time fee of $2000 per family payable in two annual installments beginning in the First Grade or other later entry point. There may be fees for optional programs in the school as well.
  • Q: Is transportation available to GOA?

    Students who live between 2 and 20 miles from the school are eligible for bus transportation. Free bus transportation to GOA is provided to residents of Livingston, Maplewood, South Orange and West Orange by those towns. Private bus transportation from all other towns is available through Durham School Services. Transportation costs start from $4120 round-trip.
  • Q: How can I afford a Golda Och Academy education?

    Golda Och Academy strives to make a Jewish Day School education accessible to families along the economic spectrum. We award approximately $2.5 million each year in tuition reduction to our families. To qualify for tuition reduction, families must meet the eligibility criteria and must complete the application process. Please visit our Go Affordable page for more information.
  • Q: How can I visit Golda Och Academy?

    There are three ways to visit GOA.

    1. Attend one of our Open Houses.
    2. For families unable to attend an Open House, personal tours are available by appointment. Please contact Mara Suskauer, Admissions Director, Lower School, to schedule a tour for grades Pre-K through 5. Please contact Gail Shapiro, Director of Admissions and Community Outreach to schedule a tour for grades 6 through 11.
    3. Applicants applying to Grades 6-11 must schedule a visit and interview as part of the application process.
