Announcing the Wilf Family Foundations Gift to GOA

The Wilf family’s generosity and leadership continues to be essential in sustaining Jewish communities across North America, in Greater MetroWest New Jersey, and right here at Golda Och Academy. As part of the Wilf Family Foundations tremendous gift to the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest New Jersey Centennial Campaign, Golda Och Academy was thrilled and honored to receive a $1.8 million grant to support our ongoing faculty excellence initiative focused on strengthening our school’s ability to recruit, reward, and retain the best and brightest teachers for our students. Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ Announces $15 Million Centennial Campaign Leadership Gift from Wilf Family Foundations

Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ announces a $15 million gift from the Wilf Family Foundations in support of Federation’s Centennial Campaign, the largest fundraising campaign in the Federation’s history. The gift funds areas of vital importance in Federation’s renowned work throughout the Greater MetroWest Jewish community including:

  • Holocaust education
  • Care for Holocaust survivors
  • Jewish education
  • Leadership development
  • Providing community security, combatting antisemitism, and promoting social justice
  • Maintaining the Wilf family’s commitment to the primacy of the Annual Campaign

The Wilf Centennial gift represents the lead gift in the Targeted Giving Today segment of Federation’s Centennial Campaign, a multi-year fundraising initiative of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ.

Centennial Targeted Giving Today recognizes donors making significant investments over the next five to seven years to enhance Federation’s key programmatic, service, educational, and outreach work throughout the Greater MetroWest Jewish community. In 2023, Jewish Federation celebrates 100 years of building a vibrant Jewish community in Greater MetroWest.

The gift includes new and continued annual support for a number of longtime funding partners of the Wilf Family Foundations including the Jewish Educational Center, Golda Och Academy, and the Jewish Agency for Israel.

The Centennial gift builds on the Wilf family’s longstanding and indelible imprint on the Greater MetroWest Jewish community and beyond. Joseph z’’l and Elizabeth Wilf, and Harry z’’l and Judith z’’l Wilf, set a profound example as philanthropists who drew on their experience as Holocaust survivors to help improve countless lives. The family’s generosity – now led by the family’s next generation – has enabled Federation to continue meeting the community’s needs today.

“These specific areas of impact of our Centennial gift are both essential for our Jewish community and deeply personal for our family. My parents and grandparents were all Holocaust survivors, which has shaped our philanthropy. We have to make sure that there’s a strong Jewish community and a strong State of Israel. Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and the entire Federation system meet the needs of Jews wherever they are in the world,” said Mark Wilf.

“Greater MetroWest is a dynamic community with great people, exceptional educational options for families, and limitless opportunities for participating. Especially now, leading up to our Centennial, I urge everyone here in our Jewish community to get involved. It’s very special to be part of something greater than yourself,” said Jane Wilf, who is chairing Jewish Federation’s Centennial.

“By serving as role models for others in both philanthropy and activism, the Wilf family defines leadership in both word and deed. The Centennial Campaign gift from the Wilf Family Foundations extends to so many aspects of our Jewish Federation’s comprehensive work. Their generosity and enduring commitment are an inspiration to our Greater MetroWest community,” said Dov Ben-Shimon, Executive Vice President/CEO, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ.
