Jewish Scholar: Author of Jewish Law in American Tribunals and many articles on Jewish law appearing in law reviews of several law schools. Mr. Meislin lectured on Jewish law at Oxford University and in Jerusalem before the International Association of Jewish lawyers and Jurists.

Mission
The Meislin Memorial Library strives to build a collection that meets the academic, research, and pleasure-reading needs of the students and faculty.
Library Hours
Monday 8-4
Tuesday-Thursday 8-5
Friday 8-2
The library is closed to students during Tefila.
The Library may be closed at times during the day when classes meet in the library, or when teachers have scheduled time for their class to do research in the library. Please see the library schedule for specific information.
Lunch in the Library
Middle School: MS students must eat lunch in the Ulam. The library will be available after benching, but no food may be brought in.
High School: HS Students may bring their lunches to the library (dairy and pareve only. NO MEAT). Students must clean up after themselves, or the privilege will be revoked.
Additional Library Policies
*Drinks MUST have caps.
*Cell phones may not be used in the library.
*Do not sit on the tables.
*Seating is not allowed in the stacks. You must be visible from the reference desk.
*Please keep your voices low.
Circulation
*2 weeks -Most books circulate for 2 weeks, and may be renewed.
*Overnight – DVDs and VHS circulate overnight.
*Reference - Some (but not all) reference materials may be checked out overnight under special circumstances, and at the librarian's discretion. Please see Mrs. Ulric if you feel you need a reference book overnight. Failure to return Reference books the next day will result in loss of the privilege from that time on.
Overdues
Overdue fines may be charged at the librarian's discretion in order to foster a greater sense of responsibility, and ensure timely access to materials for all students.
Charges are as follows:
Regular 2-week material: 5¢ per day
Reference (overnight): $1 per day
Videos/DVDs (overnight): $1 per day
Charges max out at the replacement cost of the book.
Avoid charges by returning library material on-time. Regular 2-week material may be renewed in the library, provided that a request has not been made for it. Reference books MAY NOT be renewed. There will be no charges for days that school is closed.
Notices will be sent when possible, but you are responsible for knowing when your material is due.
Lost materials must be paid for by the end of the school year in order to reeive your final report card in a timely manner.
Photocopier
The photocopier is available for individual copies of research materials, and other appropriate uses. Please double-side your copies to save paper. If you need to copy or print more than 15 pages, please ask the librarian for permission.
Computer Use
Computers in the library are primarily for school-related work and research. Non-violent games, and personal use such as email are permitted only if the computers are not needed for academic work. Anyone using the computers for personal reasons, MUST give up the computer to anyone needing it for school if asked. Refusal to do so may result in loss of computer privileges. Printing is allowed for school-related purposes only. Please see the school’s acceptable use policy for further information.
